Lucky me ... 2nd concert within 2years and that too of the Demi - Gods of Metal - Iron Maiden ( Loh Kanya )! They were here for their " Somewhere back in time " concert . Still not able to believe my luck that I have actually seen them perform " Live " , songs that I have been hearing for the last 20years .Songs like " Number of the Beast " , " Run to the hills " , " Phantom of the Opera " , " Fear of the dark "- every Metal fan's ultimate dream .
To start , the Flight landed in Bangalore and was moving to the Bay area and I was looking out of the window and what luck - the aircraft just parked next to Iron Maiden's Ed Force One - Aircraft - Boeing 757, attaching photograph for the unlucky few . After having a full view of the Aircraft to my hearts content , we moved to Bangalore City and on the way experienced some low flying moves by the Air Force Pilots from India and outside in their Mig - 29's , F-16 , Jaguars. Awesome display , guess just to prepare myself for the day ahead .
Reached the concert venue at around 1600hrs , saw some performances by some Phirangi bands - mediocre , where our expectations are nothing less than Iron Maiden . The crowd actually started heavy duty head banging and we had a small mosh pit in action . Could see bones being broken and quiet a lot of bodies being mashed , but the encouraging part was no fist fights and everybody had a content look after coming out from the Mosh pit .
There was a roar in the crowd when Parikrama came on stage - and what is surprising is that Parikrama gets a better crowd response in Bangalore than Delhi!! And the surprising part- crowd was singing along with their songs !!Nitin as usual rocked !!These guys know how to involve the crowd and songs are vintage rock !
Finally the moment arrived , we guys were waiting for - Iron Maiden on stage and what an entry - In the background you had Winston Churchills speach and then the guitars boomed !! AND THERE WAS LIGHT . WHAT A STAGE PRESENCE - Bruce Dickinson alongwith Nicko , Steve Harris , Janick and team ruled the stage , it actually made me realise why they are such a phenomenon and that too for decades .
Finally the show winded at around 2230hours , with each on us walking out like a lightning has stuck us .
Hope they come again ...... I surely not going to miss their shows .....
